It's dark atmosphere and cunning lyricism leave me wanting more albums to come from this band Favorite track: Sleeping In Shifts.

R__ The other reviews say that this album is somber but I find all of the songs to be uplifting.
The last track is transcendental. Favorite track: Clearance.

There is no mistaking Mall Walk's music for "lighthearted" or "fun." "Funny Papers" is a brooding eruption of guitars and reverb set to driving rhythms like the palpitations of an oncoming heartbreak. The album's moodiness is only slightly offset by the catchiness of the refrains and melodies, but not enough to be misinterpreted as anything remotely "happy."

What a fantastic find. Throws all of my love for Wire, Minutemen, The Waitresses, and every other herky-jerky art-punk band, into a blender and comes out better than a kale smoothie.
